Katy Connor is an artist working with digital visual technologies, audio and installation. She has an exploratory approach towards making work; using new media alongside more traditional materials to produce single screen videos, sculptural objects and multi-channel installations that comment on the ubiquitous technicization of contemporary experience.

With a professional background in film and television production, Connor worked in the commercial sector for 6 years before developing her artistic practice. She has since screened and exhibited her work in galleries and festivals in the UK, Europe and Japan.

Continually drawn towards the relationship between the body and technology, Connor explores the move from an industrial, material-based culture to a post-industrial, digital age of information flow - in which our lives are mediated by technologies in a dynamic that is both alienating and empowering.

Fascinated by the illusive moving form, that can only ever be glimpsed as it floods behind glass or projects across surfaces, she is interested in the capacity of the moving image to visualise patterns of thought and physical sensation - especially those at the edge of articulation, on the periphery of vision, behind closed eyes.
