Marc Fournel (PLAN B), is an “undisciplined creator”, who has worked in the realm of media arts since 1995. Having previously directed videos and worked in installation, in 1998 he turned his attention to the creation of interactive environments. Actively involved in programming, coordination and dissemination of media art works, Marc Fournel has occupied many administrative and directorial positions within different artist run centers and art organizations in Canada. Marc Fournel initiated and was the first director of PARC, an interactive laboratory devoted to the research and creation of works of art featuring interactive media, associated with Vidographe ( http://www.videographe.qc.ca/) in Montreal (Canada) He is presently a member of the board of directors of OBORO (http://www.oboro.net/), Montreal (Canada).

Marc Fournel production and research focus primarily on social dynamics, the development of new systems of spacial positioning, evolving audio algorithms, the creation of digital images that reflect biological structures and the creation of interactive environments within cultural and social systems. Marc Fournel is a founding member of Vitamin Beziehungen, a collective of artists and researchers whose main objective is cybernetics and their artistic applications. Marc Fournel is also an associate researcher at LMI (Laboratoire des Medias Interactifs) of l’Universit du Quebec, Montreal’s communication department. In 2007, he founded DAGAFO a independent cultural organization supporting cultural exchanges and developing media art project. Fournel’s works received numeral grants and awards and was shown nationally and internationally. Marc Fournel lives, loves, work, and drink coffee in Montreal (Canada).
